Very clean with few listings. This site has been a directory since late 2004. The best thing about this site is that they give you custom "in-content"
links (your link text is in the middle of your description, surrounded by your relevant
keywords) which should maximize the SEO benefits. Good value for the price of this
paid directory. Some of the categories are starting to have too many listings per
page for my liking. New submissions are listed at the top. Registration is required but they provide a good way of tracking your submissions. |

A unique design. Shows little extras like site PR and ratings.
They have fairly strict inclusion guidelines but offer a refund if your site is not approved. Price is fair. |

SpecialDir has been a directory site since 2007, although there was likely a period where the domain was not active (much of 2007 and 2008). The site is uncluttered. They could actually use more listings as many categories are empty. |

A well-categorized and well-run site. The directory is at least 6 years old. For some reason they have blocked web.archive.org via robots.txt but I first added the site to web-directories.ws in April of 2006. Listings with images are $25. |

Good looking site with a unique design and un-crowded pages. Sitesnoop has been
a directory for over 3 years. Their PageRank is well spread around the site. The
only negative is that they have quite a few listings on a page in some categories. Additional deep links available for $5 each. |

These guys seem to be listening to my preaching as their site promotes the fact that they are using a unique IP address with many unique categories and subcategories. Their subcategories have good unique titles and meta keywords. They would rank higher in this list if they also had unique meta descriptions. |
