Pegasus has done a good job at gaining some quality back links. Over the last 18 months, they have consistently added an average of a couple of listings a day. That is not a lot but they are consistent. Ensure that you follow their guidelines for the best chance of getting listed. May 2009 - They rank #1 in Google for the term "free directory". Nov 2009 - They rank #3 in Google for the term "free directory". April 2010 - According to their website, they do not seem to be approving many (or any) free listings. May 2010 - They are listing less than 15 submissions per week. Oct 22, 10 - Have added about 15 new listings in the last week. Some of them are obviously paid submissions. Jan 21, 2011 - Have added 15 new listings in the last week. Some of them are obviously paid. Mar 21, 2011 - Have added 15 new listings in the 8 days. May 16, 2011 - Site is down. Jul 23, 2011 - Have added 15 new listings in the last week. Sep 20, 2011 - Have added 15 new listings in the last 9 days. Jan 10, 2012 - Have added 15 new listings in the last 6 days. |

A very well-established, uniquely designed free directory. There are over 200,000 listings on the site but the categories of this wiki-type directory are designed so that new sites are still accessible by the search engines. The submission process is very fast and easy. Approvals are automated, so there could be SEO disadvantages to submitting to this directory. There must be some oversight of listings, as sites seem well-categorized and I cannot find obvious spam submissions. |

A popular, well-established site that has been a directory since 1998. They are listed here because they have been a free directory for so many years and will likely remain a free directory for years to come. They are pretty quick at adding submissions.
You have a chance of getting on a decent listing page page but the odds
are not good as some categories have over 1000 sites listed. Try to find
a category that is not too crowded. I have free links that been listed for 4 or 5 years. They would be rated
higher if they didn't bombard their submitters with email. I would recommend using a throwaway email address. Jan 21, 2011 - It looks like they have made changes to the location of their main directory which has resulted in a PR0. Their main domain jayde.com is PR4. Jul 11, 2011 - Their PageRank is back. |
